Cheyenne, Kiowa, Lincoln County Early Childhood Council (CKLECC) works to improve and sustain the availability, accessibility, capacity and quality of early childhood services for children and families in the counties of Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Lincoln. All three counties are suffering from the lack of child care options for young families. CKLECC has recently formed a regional Child Care Task Force to connect key community partners in creating solutions to this problem. Through our initial meetings we have determined that our first steps will be to support current child care professionals, recruit and build the early childhood workforce in our counties and then work towards creating more child care options.
CKLECC will be supporting this work by building a Child Care Network where providers of all kinds (center based, licensed in-home and qualified license exempt) can have access to resources, gain professional development together and participate in a family-provider referral program. CKLECC requests $5,000 to aid in the creation of this Child Care Network. The ECB grant funds will be used for child care professional recruitment within our three service counties, hosting professional development and networking events, advertising of the Child Care Network, incentives, stipends, and scholarships for early childhood professionals and to provide resources to new providers. All of this with the goal to create a strong early childhood education culture in our communities.
CKLECC is the Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Lincoln Counties Early Childhood Council. The Early Childhood Council works to improve and sustain the availability, accessibility, capacity and quality of early childhood services for children and families in the counties of Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Lincoln.
The Council focuses on three domains of early childhood: Family Support & Education Health & Well-Being Learning & Development Recognizing that children are impacted by positive early childhood experiences, Cheyenne, Kiowa and Lincoln Counties will strive for children and families to be healthy, well-educated, and part of a caring community that values people at every stage of their life.
