Three generations of service and professionalism.
Serving eastern Colorado and western Kansas for more than
60 years, The Eastern Colorado Bank has enjoyed a history of stability and growth while earning a reputation as "your friendly bank".
Founded by Victor Weed, who had gained experience working in a bank in Sharon Springs, Kansas, and several other investors, the bank received its charter in 1944, and opened for business in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. The new bank, with $25,000 in capital accounts and two officer-employees, focused on providing banking services tailored to the needs of ranchers and farmers, small businesses, and professionals in eastern Colorado and western Kansas. After outgrowing its original facilities on Main Street, it moved to its current location at 10 South First Street, and has been remodeled and updated several times. Victor Weed was president of The Eastern Colorado Bank for over 40 years, and welcomed two sons to the bank before
his death in 1985.
In 1959, V.L. Weed joined The Eastern Colorado Bank. After
performing duties ranging from Cashier to Vice-President, V.L. was President of the bank until 1998. He currently
is serving as the bank's Advisory Director.

from Denver University and serving in the United States Navy, Like his brother, V.L., Jim worked at several positions before becoming Chief Financial Officer in 1998, and Chairman of the Board in 1999.
